I wrote a post a while ago that told a little bit about my vision loss. I was told that maybe more of my story may help other people so here I go... I said that I had a brain tumor that caused my loss of vision what I did not say was the tumor was the size of a golf ball in the back of my head. I am not going to bore the world with the entire story but I will say that not long after I woke up in the hospital I went blind maybe a couple hours or more I could not tell. The brain tumor also crushed my cerebral spinal fluid tube which is the clear liquid around your brain. So with that being crushed my brain was under a lot of pressure and was causing severe headaches to make it better the doctors put in a external shunt which helped drain the extra fluid building up inside of my head. Eventually they put in a permanent VP shunt that helps my body absorb the extra fluid on its own. When I got home I slept a lot because I was recovering from a major surgery and it was a shock on my body to be in the hospital for 36 days because my first external shunt got infected. It has been diffcult to learn all new things and re learning a lot too. The way I think of it is I am kinda stuck with being blind so just go gwith it and do what needs to be done to live my life again.
